I've never run with a pacer, but I am considering the idea for the Scotiabank Marathon. It's a bit scary to be at the mercy of one individual instead of your own GPS, but I think good and bad experiences are both valuable. Congrats on your longest distance so far, you did awesome despite the walkers and the sucky out and backs and the bird shit. Even if you wanted to cry, I hope the runner's high kicked in quick enough. For some reason the logo reminds me of my high school prom.

But you did awesome! Sounds like the pacer was too cool for school, but sometimes having something to mentally make fun of is a great distraction. And I am still totally jealous of that skirt. I love it!Yo Momma Runshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02303930412601863052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8149485764435612926.post-26333526556041498832012-08-21T08:32:08.080-04:002012-08-21T08:32:08.080-04:00You did great. Also did you get those little bugs flying into your mouth as you entered the park near the end. I did for 2 years in a row. This race is tough. My first 30K was Around the Bay and I'm thankful for that as it didn't scare me off. I hope this race doesn't scare you off. Someone said to me before my first 30K it's harder to leap from half marathon to 30K then it is from the 30K to the full.... Congratulations! Even in a full marathon that time from about 28-34k (um, based on my one marathon!). I totally looked up the pacer's finish time as well. I should have paced the damn thing. My chip was 2:59:51 with a official time of 3:00:17. It was fun to run together. Sorry I wasn't very chatty, I battled some bad stomach stuff through much of the race so I didn't talk as much as usual. Do ATB. Seriously. AMAZING. Totally differnet, but just as challenging. You'll rock the half now - just wait until you see what the longer training has done for the "shorter" race.macnichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13756849604085886005noreply@blogger.com
